Day 861 - Day 351 Q - Feb.24.21 - First NFT purchase

Bought my first NFT yesterday on Super Rare and it felt so good. Time to bet on the future and see what happens. Life is about moving forward, not what’s in the past. You can’t look at the past and expect to successfully predict the future. You can use it as a framework for making educated guesses. You can monitor patterns that have happened several times in history and look at the conditions now at a macro level to understand where we are. But you can’t predict anything. My job every day is to look at the future and try to predict it and yet there’s no way anyone can. You can make bets on it and see what happens but nothing is 100%. You also will not have all the information at your disposal when you make these bets and need to use what you have. Things will come up you cannot predict, but then you just adapt. Humans are pretty adaptable creatures and the sooner you accept reality for what it is, the happier you’ll be. Bought a Kobe painting from an artist who seems like he’s at the beginning of his ascent as a sports creator, but it could be for nothing. There’s a chance this bet goes to zero. There’s also a chance this goes 1000x. In that case, take that bet every time. Life is about asymmetric upside risk and you have to bet on asymmetric outcomes. Don’t bet on things where the upside isn’t great. Bet on the future.
