The Infinite Game

The Infinite Game

The Infinite Game
Simon Sinek

Summary

How to lead and think of life as an infinite game

Notes

There is no such thing as winning in an infinite game

Instead of ‘what’s best for me,’ think ‘what’s best for us

5 characteristics of an infinite mindset:

  • Advance a just cause
  • Build trusting teams
  • Study your worthy rivals
  • Prepare for existential flexibility
  • Demonstrate the courage to lead

When playing an infinite game, the goal is not to win but to keep playing

A just cause must be for something, inclusive, service oriented, resilient and idealistic

The cause must be durable, resilient and timeless

Business is not just about making money, it’s about doing good

Invest in your people. Make sure they feel that they matter

There is a difference b/w a group of people who work together and those that trust each other

Culture = values plus behaviour

The goal of a leader should be to build new leaders

Leaders are not responsible for result, they’re responsible for the people responsible for the results

Look for worthy rivals who make you become better

We are finite players in the infinite game of life
