Apr.20.24 - Day 2029 - First drink in 3.5 months

The fateful day. When alcohol came back into my life. My last drink was on Jan 10th. The end of a conference week where I decided from then on, I was going to cut alcohol. Didn’t think I would make it this far and yet I did. Not sure it would’ve been s easy without other substances, but still. 3 months without a sip of alcohol by choice is a big thing for me. Since I started drinking in uni, the longest I’ve gone without booze before this week was 2 weeks. Now I’ve done 3 months. Could I do more? For sure. Overall, great experience. Would recommend it to everyone, especially those who are feeling like alcohol is not a large problem in their life but do enjoy their booze. Try it. Made such a difference in my sleep and consistent energy levels. My weekend mornings didn’t feel shit. They felt productive and like I was progressing. Yet, you need to live. You need to have fun. You need to enjoy life. If alcohol gives you that within reason, don’t starve yourself of having fun with others. This was a great experience I will revisit down the road but for now, bring on the boozy summer.
