Chase wonder:
Chase wonder.
Chase awe.
Chase having your mind blown.
This feeling.
The feeling of the unexplainable.
Of the surprise.
Of being wowed.
You need that.
I need that.
We all need that.
Life can get boring.
Mundane.
The same.
We need variety.
We need change.
We need something different.
Something to get us out of our rut.
Something to challenge us.
Something to inspire us.
For me, that’s magic.
I love magic.
Love it.
Love seeing it.
Love experiencing it.
Love being a part of it.
Not enough to learn how to do it.
But enough to chase it.
To see it.
To be inspired by it.
Go watch some of the best magicians and mentalists on Youtube.
Go down the rabbit hole.
Trust me.
It’ll be worth your time.
(Side note: Saw Shin Lim in Vegas and was MIND BLOWN. Incredible show)
But my all time favourite - David Blaine.
The man is incredible.
He’s awe-inspiring.
He’s different.
It’s not just magic.
It’s stuff that is truly unbelievable.
Like there’s no way what he’s doing is possible.
Spitting a frog out of his stomach.
Eating glass.
Shoving a knife through his nose.
Holding his breath for 20 minutes.
Living in a box for 44 days.
All of these are not just magic.
He’s pushing the human body to limits that are impossible.
Achievements that aren’t supposed to be real.
Yet he’s doing them.
GO watch his most recent show - Do Not Attempt.
Incredible.
Amazing.
Inspiring.
At a loss for words for what he’s done.
The people he’s showcased.
It’s unreal.
People putting fire on their heads.
Breaking glass with their skulls.
Hanging out with Black Mambas.
Someone putting a sword through their neck.
Stuff that is incomprehensible.
Yet it’s real.
It’s inspiring.
It’s incredible.
It’s amazing to watch these people achieve these feats.
They didn’t come without hard work.
Without practice.
Without 10 thousand hours of dedication.
Commitment.
And failure.
We see the end result, but we don’t see the work.
But that’s the lesson.
The lesson is with work, anything is possible.
You can achieve more than you ever thought possible.
People can inspire you in ways you didn’t know.
For me, that’s magic.
That’s happiness.
As Big Think put it in this video, don’t chase happiness.
Go hard at wonder.
Chase wonder.
