Day 1189 - Dec.29.21 - Ask ‘what would Kobe do?’
Lifetime commitment. That’s what it takes to be great. It will not happen overnight. It will not happen after a few years. It may not even happen after a few decades. But if you keep progressing forward and pushing the boundaries of what you think is possible, you will become great. You’re already great. Greatness is a mindset. It’s a desire and willingness to outwork people on the games that matter to you. Whether other people decide if you’re great or not is not up to you. You cannot control what they say or how they act, you can only control what you can do. Keep working at your craft. It will not be an easy journey and there will be many more failures along the way. Expect failures. Expect setbacks. Expect criticism. Expect people to not believe in your dreams. This is all part of the process. How you choose to internalize the outside world’s noise is up to you. You have that choice. You have to get better at understanding yourself and you’re nowhere near complete, but at least you’ve started. At least you’ve taken the first step. Keep stepping forward even if it feels like you’re going backwards. If you’re ever stuck, ask ‘what would Kobe do?.’ That’s all you’ll ever need to know.
