Feb.9.24 - Day 1958 - American Fiction
Let people love you. Let them in. It’s ok to open up. It’s ok to be vulnerable and tell people how you really feel. It doesn’t make you any less of a person. In fact, it makes you stronger. More relatable. More real. We are all figuring it out as we go. No one is perfect and we shouldn’t expect anyone to be. We’re all flawed and we all have our insecurities. Doesn’t mean we’re not worthy of love. Stop pushing people away. Let them in. Opening up about what’s honestly bothering you gets you closer to them. It makes them respect you more. Stop pretending you have all the answers figured out. You don’t and that’s ok. Call your siblings. Build relationships with them and maintain it. Parents get old and unfortunately can slowly fade away. Watching older people slowly lose their mind is really sad, but happens often. Find people who love you for you and don’t let go of them. Stop pushing those away who don’t want to be pushed. Lwastly, don’t be a parody of yourself. Money, awards, fame and recognition is nice but what cost will you pay pandering to an audience who doesn’t even understand you. Thought about all this while watching ‘American Fiction.’ Watch it, it’s worth your time.
