It's about lasting

It's about lasting

It’s about lasting:

It’s about lasting.

It’s about being consistent.

Showing up again and again for many years.

Not 1, 2 or 10.

But 20 or 30.

Or a lifetime.

The reason Lebron, Brady, Tiger, Jordan, Kobe and Gretzky are the greatest is because of how long they did it for.

Showing up again and again, no matter the outcomes.

Focused on the work and the goal.

The goal of being the best.

The goal of sharing your gift to the world.

Not doing it once, twice, a hundred or even a thousand times.

10,000 times.

100,000 times.

Putting in 100,000 hours committed to a goal.

That’s 11 plus years.

What if you do that multiple times?

That spans decades.

Decades of work.

Artists don’t share it all with the world.

They share what they think the world wants to see.

But what if the world wants to see everything?

All the good and the bad.

Put it up and let the world decide how it should be seen.

None of that is in the artists’ control.

They have no idea how their work will be seen by society.

But there’s something that compels them to share it.

To share their story and their creation with the world.

That’s what this feels like to me.

I’m going to write as long as I can.

No matter how good or bad.

I’ve done pretty good so far and yet it feels like I haven’t even begun.

Hopefully you can see with all this writing - I’m committed.

Committed to the work.

Committed to the process.

Committed to lasting.
