Day 834 - Day 324 Q - Jan.28.21 - Stay level headed

Stick to your principles. Remember why you’re doing what you’re doing. Don’t get too high, don’t go too low. It’s all a process. It’s about consistency. Producing work, whether good or bad, every week for a year. Through thick and thin, producing. Writing, working on your craft. That’s all this is, constant practice to get better. Read a Matt Taibi substack today on the whole Gamestop fiasco and couldn’t help but marvel at his writing. You have to remember it took him 15+ years of writing over and over again, reporting on different topics and churning out work. To get to his level and control of vocabulary takes time. It’s also designed for a certain kind of reader. The way you want to write is designed for something simpler. Someone who doesn’t understand jargon and technical terminology. The point is just be you. Write the way you want to write and don’t self judge before you write. Just get it down on paper, even if it all sounds like garbage. It’s about practicing the craft and getting used to writing. Challenge yourself to be better and become the best version of yourself. I did that today by posting my thoughts on the Gamestop situation. Had some good feedback from people who said they enjoyed it, but remember their opinion is not that relevant. Are you happy with what you posted? Yes. Then other people’s opinions don’t matter. Also remember, slow and steady. Organic growth over time. Keep writing and keep being you. Your time will come.
