Show up:
Just show up for yourself. That’s half the battle to getting anywhere. Just showing up on time where you’re supposed to be that. Half the battle is showing up. It’s hard to do that over and over again. But also, that’s not to say you shouldn’t rest and relax.
This is part of the downside of productivity. We feel sometimes depending on whom we’re seeing around us that we need to be doing something. We don’t. We can just chill sometimes. Most people do that daily because they work every day, come home and just kill time in evenings. It’s hard to show up for yourself in those other hours, evenings and weekends.
But if you want to do something great with your life, you have to understand how important time is. The value of time, particularly when you’re given so much of it as a young person, is extremely valuable for the future if you use it in the right ways. It is understanding that certain decisions and habits that you ingrain in you now you won’t show any success in 5 years. But in year 6, if you keep doing what you’re doing and taking risks, people will notice.
Don’t worry about that. People are paying attention and they aren’t. Just keep doing you and living the life you want. Creating the things you want to see in the world. Showcasing your perspective, whether right or wrong. It’s all your opinion. That’s what I like about this free flow writing is there’s no judgement because some of these sentences don’t always make sense. But the ideas is there.
Most us are so concerned about the opinion others have of us rather than our opinion of ourselves that it hinders us from making decisions and trying things that seem out of the box. Screw that. Live your life on your terms. Figure out what you want in life and go get it. No one is going to give it to you, ever. People can open doors and can show you the way if you listen, but you still have to get after it.
You still have to walk through that door and show up. You have to put in the work. You have to take the risks. You have to bet on yourself. Over and over again. Your belief in yourself has to be bigger than anyone else’s belief in you. The road to success is hard and long. If you show up every day, fail over and over again, and try things that seem out of the ordinary, you’ll have live a fulfilled life. You’ll accomplish and be able to see things that seem impossible.
Dare to live the dreams you’ve already dreamed for yourself. Why not? Who’s stopping you? The only person is you. No one else is in the way. Sure circumstances may be hard, but if you want to get to somewhere, go get it. Go after it. No one is handing it to you ever. You can get it if you want it but it’s hard. Really hard. And it takes lots of time, failing, over and over again. The amount of criticism you’ll face along the way will be hard. It’s ok. Keep believing in yourself.
Show up for yourself.
