You're on the right track

You're on the right track

You’re on the right track:

You’re on the right track.

You’re doing the right things.

Moving the right way.

Challenging yourself.

Staying consistent.

Reading.

Writing.

Taking risks.

Living on the edge.

Pushing your body and mind farther than you think you can.

And you’re journey has only begun.

Listened to David Senra’s podcast today where he talked about meeting Charlie Munger.

Two role models of mine from completely different generations and backgrounds met for dinner.

He talked about Charlie and how for decades all he did was read and think.

He made mistakes and screwed up but he always owned up and kept chugging along.

He kept putting one foot in front of the other.

Now he’s one of the most brilliant thinkers and investors in the world.

That’s all you have to do.

Do what you’ve been doing and don’t stop.

My self-development journey started when I left medicine in 2018.

When I decided to leave, I promised myself I would institute 3 habits every day.

Reading. Writing. Meditating.

That’s it.

Do a little bit of that every day.

Now I sit here having read and taken notes on hundreds of non-fiction books, written close to 700 blog posts since the start of 2021 and meditated for more hours than people do their entire lives.

Yet I’ve only just started.

Today was a reminder I’m doing the right thing.

Back in 2021 I wrote a piece called the Next Big Short - AMC and Gamestop.

It was about how Gamestop and AMC were going to change the world.

AMC’s done now given poor management decisions, tons of debt and diluting shareholders but Gamestop is a different story.

I told friends and anyone who would listen that this company would change the world.

Most laughed me off.

But some believed in me.

Some believed in the vision and work I had done.

That this company and Ryan Cohen were going to turn this thing around and create a juggernaut.

Today they announced their Q4 and full-year earnings for 2022 and they blew it out of the water.

They’re now a profitable cash-flowing producing company with billions of dollars in the bank and no long derm debt in a volatile market with war, bank failures and inflation ravaging the world.

They validated my thesis.

Shout out to Ryan Cohen and the whole Gamestop team, you all are legends.

But today I had to stop.

I sat there after finding out the news and started crying.

All this work.

All this belief.

All this time I committed to bettering myself.

It’s paying off.

I can see the value I’ve created.

I can see the vision I’ve dreamt about.

I can see the future I want to build.

Hopefully, I get to live as long as Charlie and Warren because if I do, watch out.

It’s hard to comprehend what I can accomplish.

If this is what I can do in less than 5 years, what I can I do in 50?

My journey has just begun.

It might be long. It might be short.

That I don’t know.

All I know is I’ve done the work. I’ve put in the time. I’ve created something no one else has.

For that be proud.

Be proud of what you’ve done.

Be proud of who you are.

Be proud of the person you’ve become.

You’re on the right track.
