Add value:
Add value.
That’s the goal of my content.
Create something that provides value to people.
Whether or not they like it, the goal should be to teach them something.
Did they get something new out of what I’ve done.
I won’t be able to do it every time, but if one person can get value out of what I’ve created, it was worth it.
How do you measure value?
Good question.
Most people today use social media likes and followers to measure it.
They use their bank account.
Or the amount of nice things they have.
Does that make you valuable?
Does that mean you provided value to people?
You could argue yes.
Those who are more successful monetarily have clearly created something of value.
And I’m talking about the founders and entrepreneurs here.
Not the inheriters of wealth who have no central purpose in life besides how to spend money.
I’m talking about the people who have actually built something.
They’ve provided value to the world and been compensated for it.
But value is hard to define.
Value is personal.
We all value things differently.
Some may find value in their pet, or their spouse or their kids.
Some may find it in numbers on a screen, number of things they have or number of places they’ve visited.
Those things are valuable to them.
You have to figure out what value means to you.
But lemme give you a little secret.
Those material things aren’t valuable.
They’ll satisfy you temporarily then you’re back to where you were before.
Here are things I’ve found valuable.
Good relationships with friends.
A good relationship with family.
Work that excites me and pushes me to think differently.
Experiences with friends doing something fun.
Materialism doesn’t add value for me.
Education on the other hand, that stuff is a goldmine.
The value of education is so underestimated by the western world.
Billions of people throughout history never got access to education.
They never learned how to read and write.
Value your education, and it likely won’t be through school.
Value personal education.
Place value on being a better person.
Learning more about the world.
Following your curiosity wherever it’ll take you.
That’s the goal with this.
I’ve been following my curiosity for a few years and it’s led me here.
To a place where I’ve read hundreds of books, written hundreds more blog posts and learned more about the world than most people will ever understand.
Now’s the time to share.
Now’s the time to add value.
