Apr.22.24 - Day 2031 - Showing up when it sucks

Most of it sucks. Your writing. It’s not all suppoed to be good. It’s not supposed to read like a masterpiece. Some are supposed to be terrible. That’s the price of success and the price of creativity. What’s deemed good is in the eyes of the beholder. I may dismiss a piece as no good while others might say it’s amazing. A piece I wrote a few months back I had two people reach out to me and tell me how much it meant to them. Meanwhile I had forgotten I even wrote that. Just goes to show that you have no idea what will resonate with people. None. So keep sharing. Keep creating. Keep showing up every day trying to be better than who you were yesterday. That’s it. That’s all you can ask for. Being a tiny bit better then who you were yesterday. Life is not a race against others or a race to achievement. It’s a race to learning to enjoy the present. That’s the whole point. Enjoying where you are no matter where that is. All you can do is show up for the work andlet the outcomes happen as they may. You have no control over what’s said or discussed about you. But you do have control over your effort and showing up. Showing up when it’s bad. Showing up when it sucks. Showing up when you don’t want to write. It’s ok your stuff sucks, at least your trying.
