Day 1760 - Jul.24.23 - Ego is the enemy

Don’t let your ego destroy you. Don’t let it corrupt you. Don’t let it make you believe that you’re better than you are. You’re not. You just got lucky. To be born into those circumstances in this environment with these parents and models of what you thought was normal. You had no choice over that. So don’t let that random outcome make you believe you’re better than anyone else. You’re not. You’re just you. One human being on a planet of billions amongst billions of planets. You mean nothing. Just like me. So don’t let that belief get to you. Yes you’re just as good as anyone, but do not let your ego think you are better than you are. Ego is the enemy. It is the trait of success and the trait of demise. It is the best and worst thing you have have if you don’t know how to control it. Understand it, use it, be motivated by it but never let it take you too far. Keep people are you that keep you in check. Remember how lucky you are to be where you are. It’s not just hard work but a shit ton of luck. Be presentable. Be respectful. Don’t be too loud. Don’t make rude comments. Stop always looking over at other tables. Don’t overestimate your abilities. Be nice and present. Don’t let your ego control you.
