Day 1417 - Aug.16.22 - Get out of your box

It’s you and your box. Your box is your mind. There’s no escaping. There’s no going outside of it. Right? Or is there? Can you step outside? Can you let your body be separate from your mind? Can you let yourself stop and watch your thoughts go by? That’s what meditation teaches you. It teaches you to stop and process your life so you’re not on autopilot. It should not be chasing an unknown future or reminiscing on the past. It should be focused on what’s in front of you and making your best effort. Reminding yourself to focus on the now. Don’t worry about what will happen because it won’t. Your life will never happen the way you think. Your job is to adapt and change to the circumstances. Understand the world could end tomorrow for you and yet there are so many things unexplored. Living your life chasing the next thing while the present moment with your family and friends goes by. Don’t let that happen. Don’t let life pass you by. Don’t believe you can’t get out of that box. Getting out is the only way to process your mind and your thoughts. Don’t bottle things up. Let them go. That past is gone. That future doesn’t exist. Rather focus on the now. Focus on enjoying the things in front of you no matter what’s to come in the future. Learn from your experiences and apply them to be a better version of you. All this self-reflection started with meditation.
