Aug.23.23 - Day 1790 - Fail more often

I need to fail again. Fail more often. Send emails that get no responses. Send cold emails to people you’ve never met. Put your stuff out there for the world to see. You need to do it. You need to get used to training that muscle. You’ve trained it your whole lifer and yet here you are once again in the same position. Starting from zero with 2 books in your hand ready to sell but no one to sell it to. All good. Let the results do the talking. Let the marketing do the talking. Let what you’ve done and who you are do the talking. It’s your work that should be judged on merit. Nothing else. Even then, you don’t need an agent. You can do this alone. I know you can. You know you can. So when those rejections come, let them come. Retain all the rights and upside. Don’t let them control your voice and your work. Don’t let them decide your fate and how you want to operate. Be yourself and share it directly with the world. You don’t need a publisher, you’re going to be your own published. Be careful, stay patient and keep failing. Fail again and again and again.
