Sep.2.23 - Day 1800 - Talk to your parents
Time with family is vital. It’s everything. The moments in between where it’s just you and your parents talking about real stuff is powerful. It’s perspective shifting. It’s important to listen to them and understand their perspective. Whether you agree with them or not. They brought you into this world, for good and bad. You owe it to yourself and them to get to know who they are. Ask them about their childhood and how they were raised. Ask them about their dreams and motivations. Ask them about major decisions in their life, how they navigated them and what they learned from them. Your parents are a treasure trove of knowledge, even if you don’t want to hear them sometimes. So grateful I get to be able to chat with my dad while drinking, just 1 on 1 about life. Memories I will never forget. Moments that have shown me how lucky I am to live this life. How fortunate I am to be in the position I’m in. Sure I had to work hard but I also had to be the luckiest human in the world. This shouldn’t be real and yet it is. Savour it for all it’s worth
