Dec.24.23 - Day 1913 - Pass it down

Pass it down. Invest in the next generation. Make them better than you. You are gonna die one day. All of us are. What are we left with? Our family? Our possessions? Our relationships? Cool. All those disappear pretty soon after. How about our impact? How about investing in people younger than you to be better than you? Love Lamar Jackson’s opinion on this. Watched an interview with him recently and 6Black, a Baltimore native. The interviewer asked him a question about kids loving him. His response was ‘I always tell them to be better than me. Don’t be me. Be better than me.’ That’s a bar. That’s a true role model. That’s become my goal. Make people better than me. How do I get young people to make better decisions than I could when I was their age? How do I teach them what I wish I knew? Had an awesome convo today w/ Jai in the hot tub and know it’s going to stick. Know it’s going to be timelines. Know that guy will remember what I said till he dies. It won’t hit him now but it will when he’s learning that lessons. I’m trying to do that at scale for the world. What’s what ie means to pass it down.
