We all need great leaders in our life.

Who challenge us.

Who support us through it all.

Because life ain’t a cakewalk.

It isn’t a straight line up and to the right.

Many times it’ll be down.

Those great leaders help you turn it around.

They lend a helping hand.

They ask you about a new solution.

‍

They show you a new perspective.

‍

You don’t know where they’ll come from.

Maybe it’s from work.

Maybe it’s not.

‍

It’s been different people throughout my life.

Tim Ferris.

Gary Vee.

‍

Jordan Peterson.

‍

Joe Rogan.

‍

Naval.

‍

Kobe.

‍

Great role models in their own right.

‍

They’re far from perfect.

‍

But they keep showing up.

‍

They keep trying.

‍

They keep speaking their mind and their truth.

‍

We need more of these people.

‍

People for men and women to look up to.

‍

Our idols have become athletes.

‍

Not great scientists.

‍

Or speakers.

‍

Or authors.

‍

They have become reality TV stars.

‍

And TikTok dancers.

‍

And has-been celebrities.

‍

You have some great leaders in business.

‍

But I wonder how few and far between it is.

‍

Satya Nadella comes to mind.

‍

Sundar Pichai.

‍

Warren Buffet.

‍

Are these great men?

‍

Are they great role models?

‍

Are they great leaders?

‍

Are they people we should aspire to be?

‍

Yes.

‍

But their stories aren’t told.

‍

They’re not heard of by the masses.

‍

We focus too much on the distractions.

‍

On the bullshit.

‍

On the news story that’ll disappear tomorrow.

‍

I hope great leaders emerge this next decade.

‍

We need them.

‍

We need those who stand-up when things get hard.

‍

Because they will get much harder than we can conceive.

‍

‘Good times create weak men. Weak men create hard times. Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times.’

We’re in the 2nd part of that quote.

We need men and women who can lead.

‍

Who can inspire their followers.

‍

To be better.

‍

Stronger.

‍

More purposeful individuals.

We need those leaders in our life.

We need those people to guide us.

‍

We need the best.

‍

The best know the only way up is to empower their people.
