Day 826 - Day 316 Q - Jan.20.21 - Fail more often
You cannot be afraid to fail. Ever. Who cares if you make a mistake? People make mistakes every day. The only person who remembers the mistake as long as you do is you. Most people will forget after a while if you’ve made one. But people also internalize mistakes and it eats away at them. ‘Why did I do this? I should have done it this way, etc.’ You need to make more mistakes because how else do you learn? You can’t follow the crowd and expect to be someone different if you’re not doing things differently. If you’re not trying things that seem crazy. If you’re not zigging when everyone else is zagging. A lot of times you will fail and may look like an idiot. Who cares! Other people’s opinions of you are not nearly as important as your opinion of yourself. As long as you were comfortable with the decision and made it with as much info as possible, you should be happy with the decision. Poor outcomes can happen because you didn’t have all the information or something happens you didn’t foresee. Chance and luck are everywhere, in good and bad outcomes. The thought process of how you made that decision is more important than the outcome. That’s the thing you have control over and as long as you make that better, you’ll be golden. But you can’t make better decisions without failing a number of times. Never be afraid to take risks and do things that other people don’t understand. They’re not in your shoes, you are. So keep failing!
