Day 290 – 24th birthday – June 24.19

24 years. 24 sets of happy birthday. 24 days where presents were given and people celebrated you and your accomplishments. What a ride it’s been, this past year especially. A year ago I was playing shot for shot with ***** after bowling with all my friends, a day before graduation ball and a few days before I graduated medical school. This dream that felt so distant was about to occur with friends who had supported me and became my extended family, all together getting drunk on one of our last nights together. Over the last year, there are too many memories and experiences that have shaped me and made me feel thankful to have lived my life. 2 months of golf last summer getting prepared to go to London for a masters to a 6-month job in Amsterdam living in a new country. Still remember arriving there the first day with multiple suitcases having to get *****’s key from the coffee shop, to sleeping on his floor for 2 weeks to getting my own place, to celebrating ****'s last day at M Ventures with a really nice lunch to seeing different iterations of analysts come and go. This doesn’t include the personal development and finally investing in myself. Think and Grow Rich, reading it on a Saturday in that coffee shop in Amsterdam changed my path forever. It brought me on a journey to 42 books and counting since last September including some incredible ones I’ll always go back to. Starting with meditation to slow down my mind to be more present is the one task you’ve committed to and helped me regulate my emotions. Then the last few months I’ve been so grateful to have had time off when THE TORONTO RAPTORS WON AN NBA TITLE IN MY CITY AND I GOT TO SEE A GAME. To seeing Liverpool host the champions league title and go to the game against Chelsea and seeing Salah’s incredible goal and celebrating Mane’s birthday while watching Tiger win the Masters. This year has been absolutely impeccable and one of the biggest years of my life. I’ll look back on this year and remember it for all its good and bad because it’s changed my outlook and perception with all that I can achieve. Your life is hopefully just beginning and now is the start of something incredible. Stop and appreciate the little moments because you’re family toasting you on your champagne birthday is incredibly lucky to have. Enjoy it!
