Day 1367 - Jun.27.22 - Validate yourself
Seek respect, not validation. You don’t need external validation. Not from your parents, not from your friends and not from society. You need internal validation. Are you happy making the choices you are? Are you moving forward every day? Are you taking a risk and failing at something? If the answer to all of this is yes, you’re on the right path. Too often we look to external parties to validate our ideas or work. To tell us we’re doing a good job and give us a pat on the back. They won’t. Never to what you want. You’ll always be unhappy allowing other people to control your happiness with their opinions. Block out the noise. Focus on the internal compass. Focus on living the life you want, not anyone else. How can you be free playing someone else’s game? How can you live an authentic life when you’re constantly presenting a facade to the outside world hoping they’ll see you and validate your feelings? You can’t. You must go within. You must search for the answers to the questions that have always bothered you internally. Read and learn from experienced people and those that have accomplished what you want to in life, but first listen to yourself. Even if yourself is wrong, learn from it, re-adjust and try again. Only through trial and error do you realize that no one will ever validate you. You need to validate yourself. Once you do that, you’ll get all the respect in the world.
