Let magic happen:

Let magic happen.

Put yourself in circumstances where you’re more likely to experience magic.

To experience something that transcends you.

Something that outlives you.

Just watched Daft Punk’s ‘One More Time’ Music Video.

It’s an all timer.

It got me thinking.

This song, released more than 20 years ago, is still loved by millions.

Yet they started 7 years before.

For 7 years, before they blew up internationally, they had to keep working on their craft.

They had to commit to the work.

Commit to the grind of showing up.

Trying.

Creating.

Coming up with something new but based on old influences.

Hoping that it’ll be magic.

Here’s the lesson - you can’t control that.

You have no idea when magic will be created.

All of that is outside your control.

But what is in your control as an artist is effort.

It’s work

It’s production.

It’s showing up and sharing your gift again and again.

So much is outside our control, yet we choose to focus on it rather than what we can do.

Listen, most of your life will happen to you, not for you.

It’s your job to handle what comes and do your best to control what you can do.

So focus your time on something.

Focus your time on creating.

Creating something.

Something that only you know how to do.

Sure you’ll fail.

But that’s the point.

Success comes with failure.

If you don’t fail, you don’t succeed.

If you don’t fail, you’ll never see magic.

So fail more.

Fail so you can let magic happen.
