Nobody cares

Nobody cares:

Nobody cares.

No one is thinking about what you’re going to do next.

Judging you for your actions.

If they are, it’s for a moment and then it’s gone.

Everyone’s too concerned with themselves to pay attention to you.

How they look to the outside world.

Was out tonight with a work colleague and he brought a friend.

The friend was heavily invested in crypto, electric vehicles and the market.

Throughout the night, you could see anxiety about how much money he had in play in the market.

This guy was stressed.

As I brought up conversations about myself, you could tell he wasn’t paying attention.

Most people aren’t.

It’s probably because of me and my boring chat, but still.

This guy couldn’t care less.

No one does.

We’re all too wrapped in our own heads and own lives to really pay attention to what someone else is doing.

That should be a liberating feeling.

You have all the opportunities in front of you, especially because of the Internet.

Anyone with a wifi connection has access to the world’s knowledge at their fingertips.

That is immense power, yet most people squander it because they don’t know what to do.

We’re too trapped in our social media algorithms worrying about what our followers will think of our latest post rather than focused on bettering ourselves.

Here’s the secret - no one cares.

All that time spent composing the perfect picture for Instagram - no one gives a shit.

People will like it, pay attention for 2 seconds, then move on.

We’re all too worried about our own shit to really care about what else is going on.

So do your thing.

Focus on yourself.

Focus on what makes you happy.

Do what you enjoy, regardless if people like it or not.

So what people laugh at you? So what people make fun of you?

We’re too caught up in our online image that we forget about our real-life personalities.

Many people’s digital personality is more interesting than their real personality.

That’s a problem.

We need to learn to be better in real life, not on social media.

Social is fake.

It’s the perfect image of your life that’s a fraction of what goes on.

Yet we all do it.

We all conform to what these social media apps dictate for us.

We’re all worried about what our followers will think of our latest post rather than our own happiness.

How do we get out of it?

How do we distance ourselves from other people’s opinions?

Good question.

It’s hard.

It involves a lot of self-work.

Some people have to go full cold turkey - shut them all off, delete the apps and leave them.

For others, it’s focusing on other things in their life that give them happiness.

And for most, it’s being aware of the problem, yet continuing to conform.

Conformity is hard to break.

It’s hard not to conform.

It’s lonely.

No one is standing next to you.

Choosing a path less traveled is lonely, but doesn’t mean it’s not worth it.

Live the life you want, not the one other people want for you.

Nobody cares, so just do you.

People not caring, our digital personalities and focusing on yourself
