Day 1515 - Nov.22.22 - Be a better time allocator
Life will get in the way. Obligations, relationships, being with your significant other, traveling, all of it will take away from your purpose. Means you have to be a better time allocator than most. CEOs and investors talk about capital allocation but what about time allocation. How you allocate your time effectively is just as important to your as it is for a CEO to allocate capital efficiently. The best CEOs are the best capital allocators and the best time allocators tend to be the most successful people. Don’t spend too much time on using debt or spending excess money just like you shouldn’t spend your time only on vices and spending money. Sure a little bit here and there won’t hurt you but don’t get carried away because those things, like debt, can run away from you very quickly. How do you learn to be a better time allocator? Lean from the best. Learn from those who have accomplished what you want to accomplish. Learn how they efficiently allocate their time. On your deathbed, you also want to make sure you allocate enough time to the things that make you happy, especially loving relationships. We tend to forget these things in the pursuit of wealth and success but being happy and having fun along the way are just as important to being successful. Make sure you allocate time efficiently to those because too much time spent with others and not yourself can be detrimental. Need to expand on this - time allocation vs. capital allocation.
