Day 1104 - Oct.25.21 - Keep putting stuff out there

Most of what you do will suck. That’s ok. Just keep doing it because eventually you will get better. But you have to do the work. You have to create no matter how hard it may seem. Some of it may be incredible and some of it will be awful. You cannot control which outcome will happen because that depends on other people’s perceptions of what’s good and what’s not. That could be totally different from your opinion of your work. You cannot control how things will be perceived but you can control the effort you put into it. That’s up to you. No matter how much some days will suck and no matter how hard you want to give up, you have to keep putting in the effort. Doing this full time never gets easier because the writer feels like he has to live up to an old reputation and old work. He may have his greatest success in year 1 and still be writing for 10 years. Forget about the attention and just focus on the work. Focus on being better for yourself. A little bit every day eventually adds up to a lot. Just do a little bit. Get it out there. No matter how difficult it is, keep putting in the time. Accept that it will suck but some of those might be gems that change your life forever. You never know, just keep putting stuff out there.
