Take the leap:
Take the leap.
Take the risk.
Take the chance.
In life, you need to jump.
Into the unknown.
You don’t know where it will take you.
You could fall.
You could fly.
You have no idea when you start.
Lemme tell you something I’ve learned in my life - it always works out.
Always.
Because the journey is what’s important.
Who you meet and what you do along the way.
Most of us are stuck.
Stagnant.
Living the same lives.
Doing the same things.
Being the same people.
But we all have a choice.
Every day.
To take mini risks.
I’m not asking you to jump out of a plane tomorrow.
But I am asking you to try something.
Talk to a stranger.
Ask out your crush.
Go to a place you’ve never been before.
Turn off your phone and get lost in your city.
Try a new hobby.
Go to a pottery class.
Whatever.
Start with something small.
Get out of your comfort zone.
Through that, you’ll realize life is not that scary.
You won’t die by doing this.
In fact, you’ll feel empowered.
It’s nerve-racking at first.
Your heart is racing.
Butterflies in your stomach.
Your mind telling you to turn around.
But those moments are when you truly live.
When you’re truly free.
When you learn to let go of fear, anxiety and expectation.
And just act.
Doesn’t mean you won’t fail the first time.
Or second.
Or 100th.
But the fact that you’ve taken the chance puts you ahead of most of the world.
Most people don’t act.
They sit on the sidelines.
Criticizing.
Judging.
Putting people down.
Don’t be one of those.
Instead, act.
Just watched a Buried life episode in season 2 where they ask out the girl of their dreams. (Link to watch here).
Turns out it was Taylor Swift.
Duncan, one of the 4 original members, snuck into the Country Music Awards in 2010 and asked her out.
But there’s a moment at the beginning when he’s talking to a make-up artist.
She says ‘why are you so hung up on Taylor Swift?’
He says ‘I met her in an airport briefly last year and she seems really honest and homegrown.
But this whole thing is about living without regret and living without what-ifs.
Whether she says yes or no, it doesn’t really matter.
It’s about taking the leap.’
He got his date with Taylor Swift.
Take the leap.
