You need people:
You need people.
People around you.
People who care about you.
People who support you.
People who love you.
You need them.
Life is not worth living alone.
It’s not worth living on your own away from others.
Human relationships are the bedrock of happiness.
Arthur Brooks, a famous Harvard psychology professor, talked about it in his recent book on happiness.
You need friends who are useless.
Those who only care about you for you.
They don’t care how successful or not successful you are.
They just care about you.
Find people in your life who care about you.
Don’t let them go.
The ones who don’t, stop giving them the time of day.
Move on.
Time is our most important asset.
We don’t need to spend it with those who don’t care about us.
But you do need to spend it with people.
Happiness comes from relationships.
The longest study ever done on happiness tells you just that.
Life is better when you enjoy it with people.
With family.
With friends.
With people.
With those who inspire you.
With those who challenge you.
With those who support you.
With those who you have fun with.
You need people who make your life more interesting
Those who take you on an adventure.
Was reminded of this watching Steve Martin’s documentary.
There’s a scene towards the end where he talks about a dream.
A dream where he’s in an open field with a woman who’s showing him his open grave.
In the grave is a skeleton of his grave smiling.
He asks ‘Does this mean it’s possible to die happy?’
‘Yes it is’ she replies.
‘What do I need to do in order to die happy?’
‘Adventure.’
‘You mean like seeing waterfalls and touring the world?’
‘No, people.’
You need people.
