Enjoy the time spent with your grandparents now because they’re gonna go soon. You don’t know when. You don’t know if it’ll be you first but they’re going to leave. And if you don’t ask questions, sit down with them and listen, all their stories will go too. Hearing daddi and daddu’s stories about how they moved to England, hustled and then moved to Canada was inspiring. They’re the real heroes because of how much they’ve sacrificed. For a better life for themselves and their kids. Having daddi as well talk about how she got educated in India in the 50s, then worked multiple jobs in England and Canada is amazing. Talk about a strong woman. She persisted through all of it. She kept going and going and going until she got where she wanted. The relentless drive that they had was just amazing to hear about because you see where dadda got it from and how it drove him. Also how it’s driving me. Just enjoy spending time and sitting with them and listening to their stories. It’s about struggle, the unknown, drive, perseverance and also luck. How much luck is a huge component of our lives is so underrated. They use god and pray to him as a way to explain and rationalize it. But luck plays such a huge factor in everything you do. It almost gives you everything you have. So sit down and listen to them more. They have so many answers and have lived through so many generations. They have so much to teach you so shut up and listen to them. Your family is the most important thing and appreciate the moments.
