Don’t ever take this life for granted:
Don’t ever take this life for granted.
Ever.
We are so lucky to be here.
To be born.
It may not feel like it in your circumstances, but you are.
We all are.
The chances of us being alive are over 1 in a trillion.
Think about that.
It’s unimaginable.
Yet here you are.
In this life.
Living this experience.
Dealing with the people around you.
Living in the places that you do.
Some of us have it better than others.
But it doesn’t mean we’re any more important.
We’re all figuring it out.
On this floating rock in space.
Filled with billions of stars.
Saw this stat today that is mind-blowing.
There are more stars in the universe than words uttered by every human in history.
Insane.
We are so tiny.
So meaningless.
Think we mean so much.
Think our lives are so important.
But they’re not.
They’re just 1 in 8 billion at this time on this planet.
That doesn’t mean it’s not important to us.
Because our lives are everything to us.
We feel like the world revolves around us.
Or it should.
But it doesn’t.
It doesn’t care.
No one does.
Besides a few close people around you, no one cares.
Everyone’s too busy focusing on themselves.
So you should too.
But not what other people think of you.
What you think of you.
You need to focus on your happiness.
Focus on what makes you tick.
Focus on something you can control.
Something you can create.
Something that makes you excited to be alive.
We all have it in us.
Annie Lammot said it in Bird by Bird.
We all have a story to share but only a few of us decide to share it.
The rest of us are too worried about what other people think.
Screw them.
Stop holding other people’s opinions about you higher than your own opinion of you.
Love yourself.
Love all your flaws.
Love all your faults.
Love who you are.
Even though you may not be perfect, you still made it here.
You got here.
You persisted.
You showed up.
You may not like where you are, but you should acknowledge where you are.
Look at how far you’ve come.
Be grateful for the journey.
Grateful for the time you’ve had on this planet.
Hopefully you get much more.
All I know is we don’t know when it will go.
But one day it will.
One day everything you’ve ever done, achieved, worked for and cared about will all disappear.
So be grateful you were here to experience it while it was happening.
Don’t ever take this life for granted.
