I'm a work in prog-mess

I’m a work in prog-mess:

I’m a work in prog-mess.

Both progress and a mess.

We’re all a mess.

Trying to navigate life with a blueprint our parents gave us.

None of us knows what we’re doing.

We’re looking at the people around us and following their lifestyles.

Some of us had good influences.

Others didn’t.

No matter what, we all dealt with trauma as kids.

Some more than others.

Because of that, we act in certain ways.

We assume a lot about the world that’s not true.

One of them is that people are perfect.

That’s bullshit.

No one is.

Even the most successful people you see.

You don’t see their problems.

You don’t see their dark days.

You don’t see their loss, grief and heartbreak.

We all deal with it.

We’re all human.

We all struggle.

We’re all trying every day to navigate the circumstances that we’re in.

Some people make good choices.

Others don’t.

Often not because they’re fully aware of the consequences.

Sometimes we get lucky with our choices.

Sometimes we don’t.

No matter what, you can still choose to get up every day.

To place one foot in front of the other and keep moving forward.

Keep progressing.

Not allowing yourself to stay exactly where you are.

Doesn’t mean you’ll ever be perfect.

But at least you’re getting a little bit better.

Don’t think I have any of this figured out.

I’m still a work in prog-mess.
