Day 1203 - Jan.12.22 - Think of life in probabilities

Think of life in probabilistic outcomes. Nothing is 100%. LIfe is a series of bets. Play the odds in your favour and over a long enough period of time, you’ll succeed. You may lose for a while but if you can stack the probability in your favour, your chances of succeeding are higher. This is also tied to how many bets you take. If you take only a few and fail, that doesn’t mean you didn’t make the right decision. You just need to increase the frequency of failure because that’s how you’ll learn and grow. The key is becoming a better decision maker. A better probabilistic thinker. Stack the odds. Take asymmetric upside bets. Cold emailing to get my job is one. No downside and changed the course of my life forever. Same with writing. It’s going to get me the same asymmetric upside. There’s zero downside to what I’m doing. So what I lose a bit of money? At least I have 500 pieces of content and all that growth over a year. You can’t replace that. I’m getting better as a thinker and hopefully a decision maker. Take bets where the odds are in your favour. On a long enough time scale, you’ll win. Judgement is everything!
