Day 577 – Day 65 Quarantine – May.20.20 - Why did I succeed?

Are you an impressive guy? Objectively yes based on society’s standards but why do you feel like such a fraud sometimes? How did I get so lucky to end up here? What did I do to deserve this life? Yes, I had to work hard but a lot of people work harder than me every single day and yet don’t go anywhere. Is it my ability to think outside the box that society puts us in and be opportunistic when the time comes? Possibly. But it still feels like others have opportunity as well. Maybe it's just conviction behind your decisions and the ability to bet on yourself. But why don’t more people do that? At the end of the day, you can only depend on yourself for your own survival. It’s also as a result of a system of privilege. I’m not a girl, I’m healthy and fit and reasonably well read so that’s a massive advantage right there. I was definitely brought up in a 1% household. But does that make me a bad person for using the resources available to me? I don’t think so. But it’s an interesting concept. Did I get here because of me or because of an environment? I don’t know. Either way, be grateful because you’re here!
