We’re all figuring it out:

We’re all figuring it out.

Even the people at the top.

The ones you see on TV - they’re trying as much as you and me.

Sure they may have gotten lucky and worked hard, but they’re still figuring it out.

Battling the same inner demons we all do.

Worrying about the past.

Focusing on the negative in their life.

Letting their negative self-talk and subconscious dictate their life.

Just finished Selena Gomez’s new documentary and it was a fascinating look into one of the most famous people in the world.

She’s battling so much.

She’s been through so much.

Even though she’s achieved everything she’s ever wanted and more, she feels less than.

She still feels guilty.

She still feels like she’s not enough.

The woman who’s the most followed person in the world goes through moments where she doesn’t feel enough.

What I’ve learned was it never goes away.

Those feelings don’t just disappear.

We all go through it.

Yet many times, she kept talking about how she had to persist.

She had to show up and continue to be who she is.

She knows it’s not about fame, money and nice dresses.

It’s about the impact.

It’s about making a real difference in someone’s life.

So many people look up to her as a symbol of strength, courage and resilience.

This documentary gave me appreciation for people at the top.

They’re not perfect.

No one is.

They’re battling inner demons all the time.

The only difference is they have a camera on them 24/7 where everything they do is watched and magnified.

That’s a tough place to be.

Everyone around them is pulling them away from being themselves.

Wanting them to be someone who they don’t want to be.

It’s refreshing to see the celebrities and role models we see in the media talk about these kinds of issues.

These things transcend race, religion, language and culture.

We all deal with this.

Having conversations about it and giving the world an honest look into what it’s like to be that famous is great.

So thanks Selena.

Thanks for being you.

Thanks for showing the world part of your path to self discovery.

You have a fan forever.

Keep going, you’re doing great.
