Day 917 - Day 407 Q - Apr.21.21 - You can’t speed up the process
Success is about showing up, even when you don’t want to. If you can do that in whatever domain you choose and continue to do it for years, you’ll be successful. You have to work on things for long periods of time, often with no results and no payoff in order to be successful. You have to work on something again and again and eventually your struggle will turn into results. Your work will pay off. But you can’t speed up the work. You can take risks, but you still have to do the work. The work is what gets you to the point where you can take risks. It takes years as well for the work to be any good. Remember, quality is subjective, quantity is not. Absolutely love that saying because it captures so much. You have to put in the hours. Do it from a place of happiness and gratitude. Understand why you’re doing it and only do what you enjoy. Do it at your own speed. There’s no line to chase. There’s no end goal and even if there is, the process is what makes it worth it. You can’t speed up the process but you can put in the work to get there sooner. If you want to be and achieve a level of success while you’re young that is outsized compared to most of the world, you have to put in so much work. You have to stop feeling bad for yourself and go create the future you want. You have to build it. Create your dreams. All the greats have done it. They were just like anyone else when they started but they put in the work and took giant bets that proved to be true. I think my time is coming. Been training my whole life for this. I’m ready.
