Create, not criticize:
Create, not criticize.
It’s easy to criticize.
To sit on the sideline.
To bad mouth someone.
To talk down their work.
That’s easy.
It’s very hard to do the opposite.
To create.
To be in the ring.
To be vulnerable enough to share your ideas with the world.
Your creations.
The things that make you you.
The stories.
The manifestations of your life.
It’s hard to share that.
Most people never do.
They’re too scared.
Afraid.
Shy.
They care too much about the opinions of those around them.
Too judged.
Too in their head.
They don’t realize.
They don’t matter.
None of us do.
We’re here today.
Gone tomorrow.
We get a short time on this planet.
80 years.
Maybe 100 if we’re lucky.
Often times less.
They think they’re important.
That their life matters.
They’re so caught up in themselves.
That they forget to look around.
They forget to appreciate it.
To appreciate life.
To understand how lucky we are to be on this planet.
We get one shot.
One chance.
One opportunity.
To seize everything we’ve ever wanted.
Will you catch it?
Or just let it slip?
Thanks Eminem.
You were right.
This life is a gift.
It’s precious.
Yet we take it for granted.
We assume we’ll have time.
That we’ll have a tomorrow.
But we won’t.
One day, tomorrow won’t be there.
It won’t exist.
It’ll disappear.
All of this.
Everything.
Everything you’ve ever thought of.
Everything you’ve ever done.
Everything you’ve ever lived.
All gone.
Disappeared into the ether.
And no one will care.
Your family will.
But eventually they’ll move on.
They’ll pass away.
Remember this from a book I read a few years back.
You have 2 deaths.
The first is when you die.
The second is when every single person you knew you dies.
Because then you’re gone.
All the memories of you.
All the experiences.
So what are you going to do about it?
How are you going to spend your time?
Don’t spend it criticizing.
Don’t spend it consuming.
Don’t spend it wasting your time.
Do something with it.
Create.
That’s it.
Start creating.
Whatever it is.
Get your ideas out of your head.
Make them real.
Don’t worry about others.
Don’t worry about what they’ll say.
Or what they’ll think.
They’re too caught up in themselves.
So worry about you.
What world do you want to see?
What world do you want to create?
What do you want to see exist?
Go make it real.
Go make it happen.
One day it’ll be forgotten.
But that doesn’t matter.
Because at least you created.
At least you did.
At least you made something that didn’t exist before.
And that’s enough to say you made an impact on this world.
You did something.
You didn’t just waste your time.
You created.
You didn’t criticize.
Create, not criticize.
