Don't desire to be a celebrity

Don’t desire to be a celebrity:

Don’t desire to be a celebrity.

Celebrities are here one day, gone the next.

The shit show of a life they have to deal with is hard to understand for most people.

Sure they may have a nice house, a nice car, and get to meet pretty people but they’re just as fucked up as you and I.

I can imagine most of them are even more fucked up than the average person.

The chase for fame and ego is always a losing one.

It’s easy to let success get to your head when everyone’s telling you how great you are.

Celebrity and fame can corrupt a person’s psyche into believing they’re better than other people.

They’re not.

Most of them just got lucky.

The Kardashians and Di-Mello’s of the world have made people believe that having everyone watch your every move is a good thing.

It’s not.

You can’t screw up.

Mistakes are magnified.

You have no privacy.

You or your family’s lives could be threatened. Ask Kim K about her experience in Paris.

You’re always a target.

You’re constantly trying to keep up with the game of attention.

Keeping up with likes and followers chasing this never-ending desire to be validated by the outside world.

Getting in on the latest trend or constantly being in the news to make sure people are always looking at you.

That’s a losing battle.

How can you grow as a person and really understand yourself if you never have time to step away?

If you never have time to be alone with yourself?

You can’t.

I honestly feel bad for some creators and influencers because after a few years, they may finally realize they don’t love the game their playing.

This desire to become famous and have the world watch them is not really what they wanted.

You need to love the game you’re playing, not the outcomes or desires of the game.

I’m not doing this for fame or celebrity. I’m doing this for impact and legacy.

I’m doing this so someone can learn something from what I’ve done and help themselves understand the world a little better.

I’m also doing it because I love it.

I genuinely love writing on a blank page about random topics trying to better understand myself.

If fame and celebrity come as a byproduct of this, so be it but I would be doing this anyway.

I have been for a year and a half mostly in silence.

I needed to take the time with myself to understand if I loved the game for the game’s sake or for the outcome’s sake.

As Partice Evra and the last little while have taught me - I LOVE THIS GAME!

Love the game, not the celebrity that comes with it.

Don’t desire to be a celebrity, desire to have an impact.

Chasing celebrity, fame being a losing game and having impact
