How great do you wanna be?
How great do you wannna be?
How much are you willing to work?
How hard are you willing to work for your dreams?
How much are you willing to delay satisfaction?
That choice is yours.
Every day we have the same time.
Same 24 hours in a day.
What we do in that time is up to us.
Other people take most of it away.
But in those hours we’re alone, we decide.
It’s our choice.
Most of us choose to rest.
To shut off.
To watch Netflix.
To scroll Tik Tok.
To watch Youtube.
But you’re throwing your time away.
You’re throwing hours away.
You’re throwing your mind away.
Our time is finite.
We don’t know how long we’ll be here.
We don’t know what tomorrow holds.
We don’t know if we’re going to live for 2 days or 60 years.
We have no clue.
So don’t waste your time.
Don’t waste your attention.
Don’t waste your life.
Work at something.
Try something.
Be better today than you were yesterday.
Find your niche.
Find what you love.
Find what you enjoy.
Find what makes your heart sing.
Do that more often.
Maybe it’ll be a career.
Maybe it’ll be a hobby.
Maybe it’ll just be something you do an hour a week.
Doesn’t matter.
But if you want to be great, it’s different.
It’s maniacal.
It’s obsessive.
It never stops.
Ever.
Jerry Seinfeld told me this in a Howard Stern interview.
He’s always thinking.
Always observing.
Always thinking about his next joke.
Howard asked him if he ever got tired.
No.
It is built into him.
It is what he does.
It is all he knows.
That’s how this feels.
Writing.
Observing.
Explaining.
Thinking.
Do that as long as you live.
If you do, success will come.
Because success is about the process.
It’s about the work.
It’s about showing up.
No matter success or failure.
No matter if liked or hated.
No matter if understood or criticized.
The greats know.
It never stops.
Hopefully I’ll be there one day.
It’s not up to me.
It’s for other people to decide.
All I’m doing is trying.
