People aren't prepared for what's coming

People aren’t prepared for what’s coming:

People aren’t prepared for what’s coming.

The Internet will completely revolutionize finance. It already has.

Superstonk is incredible.

People working together in a community with different domain expertise who all work together to inform the rest of the community how the stock market works.

The only true subreddit that is untainted as of now.

These guys added an AI system called Sartori to analyze posts all the time to see who’s a shill/bot.

Incredible.

People are incredible.

Humanity is incredible.

Information sharing amongst everyone around the world to bring down those at the top who have been committing fraud for decades to enrich themselves at the expense of others.

Wall Street, market makers and high frequency trading firms front run trades. They know what you’re going to buy before you do, so they buy at a few cents lower than you to sell it back to you.

It all happens in less than a millsecond because of the cables they’ve set up. They do this millions of times a day. Virtu, a popular high frequency trading firm, has been quoted as saying they’ve had one losing day in 1234 days

There’s a really good movie about it called the Hummingbird project, and Michael Lewis wrote a book called Flash Boys.

The stock market has been rigged for a very long time.

But the Internet found out and they figured out a way to blow it all up.

Because the information arbitrage disappeared between banks, hedge funds and institutions vs. retail investors, both sides are on a more equal playing field.

So a guy in Massachusetts called Keith Gill found the loophole and told the Internet. Reddit blew it up then more and more people came in. They kept doing more and more research, which better informed the community of how screwed up the situation is.

Those in finance have known about this problem for decades because they designed the system.

They know the rules are not enforced.

They know paying fines in the millions of dollars when they’re making billions of dollars is the cost of doing business.

They’re happy to pay it any time.

They’ll spend millions of dollars on law firms to tie it up in courts and then will pay million dollar fines while they make billions of dollars.

Until people actually go to prison for blowing up the world economy, none of this will change.

They have too much money and power.

Wall Street has already started spending millions of dollars in lobbying to make sure they get their bailout.

And they likely will.

For taking insane risks.

For being so greedy.

For making hundreds of millions of dollars from risky hedge fund clients and blowing up the whole market.

Let me be very clear.

Retail never caused this.

The people found a loophole and exposed the system for how fraudulent it always was.

Do I think it will change?

I’m hopeful considering the democrats are in power, but money still runs the world.

I’m sure there’s a lot of left leaning bankers and mega-rich people who are going to do everything to not get bills passed.

Until big money is not a part of politics in the US, the politicians are always beholden to the rich.

People don’t run America, the rich do.

But this movement showed the people had the power.

When they are properly organized for a common goal, they change the world. Working together towards difficult problems. Open innovation. Crowdsourcing information.

It’s amazing and I’m so happy I get to be a small part of it.

Many people will probably anoint me some genius or something, but I’m no genius. I just saw what was happening online. I saw how the Internet reacted to January 2021. I saw the reaction of people online when buying got cut off and stopping one of the biggest short squeezes in the history of the market.

Now it’s going to be the biggest one the world has ever seen, because it’s multiple of them happening at the same time.

It’s Occupy Wall Street 2.0.

Only this time it’ll hit them where it really hurts, their pockets.

Sorry Wall Street but you did this to yourself.

You abused the system you set up.

You committed crimes.

How is it that white collar criminals rarely ever go to prison but black or Hispanic people with a tiny bit of weed have their lives ruined?

America is backwards in so many ways.

Until the people in power change the laws to never allow this to happen again by punishing the bankers, changing the laws on naked shorting, failure to delivers and banning those who break the rules, this will continue to happen.

I hope the world doesn’t forget about how we got into this situation in a few years from now if/when no laws are changed.

I don’t think that’s likely to happen because it seems like this community has been invigorated.

Soon enough the ape community of the Internet is going to be the largest hedge fund in the world, and I’m hopeful they’re going to use their money for good.

I know people are greedy and money changes people, but this feels different.

This has never happened before in history and because of that people don’t think something like this is possible.

The largest transfer of wealth in the history of the stock market is upon us.

People aren’t ready for what’s coming.
