Day 1440 - Sep.8.22 - The Queen’s death

Elizabeth died today. 90 something years old, reigned over the British monarchy and the Commonwealth for over 70 years. She saw Churchill, the cold war, the fall of the Berlin Wall, tsunamis, earthquakes, 9/11, wars and Covid. What a life she lived. She didn’t choose this life but she did the best job she could. Crazy to think she was the queen when Churchill has his 2nd term as PM. She saw globalization, the decline of poverty, new scientific discoveries, the average age of people’s lives increasing, the Internet, the iPhone and social media. She’d been through it all. I hope she had a journal and wrote down her experience of history. People need to write more, to tell their stories, to put their lives in their own words and explain their view of the world to people. We need new voices. We need people to tell their story and not be afraid of being themselves. You think the Queen cared about cancel culture? Of course, she was too busy dealing with Queen shit. Like meeting the pope and shaking hands with strangers. Her view and perspective matter, just like Megan’s. Megan didn’t appreciate what she signed up for but at least she stood her ground and tried to be herself. Regardless, the queen died today. Thanks for being a great role model Lizzie.
