500th blog post of the year - what I learned

500th blog post of the year - what I learned

December 31, 2021

500th blog post of the year – what I learned:

500th blog post of the year.

At the beginning of January 2021, I wrote across my social media profiles that I was going to conduct an experiment.

My goal for 2021: produce 100 pieces of content I share with the world.

Sitting here on December 31, 2021, I have written 500 pieces of content this year on my website.

My goal is to share everything I’ve written soon, but I’m purely focused on writing now.

It’s divided into various sections:

-Book notes

-Journal entries

-Venture Capital and Business

-Personal entries

-Miscellaneous musings

My book notes and journal entries are mostly content from the last few years but the personal entries and venture capital/business blog posts are from this year.

Here’s some of what I learned and wrote about this year in no particular order:

You don’t have to live up to anyone’s expectations of who you should be.

You're not on anyone else's timeline.

Run your own race, not someone else’s.

You don’t need to impress anyone.

Comparison is the thief of happiness.

Only compare yourself to your previous self.

Appreciate the moment in front of you.

Learn how to breathe.

No one cares about you as much as you think they do. They’re too trapped in their own mind.

Focus on little improvement every day.

Understand how compounding works.

Learn from history.

We all suck. Try and suck less.

Find the struggle worth living for.

Representation matters.

Talk is cheap, actions aren’t.

Think of life as a forest.

Dream the biggest dreams you can dream.

Follow incentives, they dictate everything.

Most of life is noise.

Crowds are easy to follow.

Think for yourself. Come to your own conclusions.

Success is a lousy teacher.

It takes a village.

You don’t need to have all the answers.

Long-term thinkers win.

No one knows anything.

Life is full of randomness.

The future is uncertain.

Expect the unexpected.

Find your water.

Get off your phone.

Boredom is good.

Be kinder to yourself.

Be your own cheerleader.

Build the world you want to see.

Be courageous.

The only person holding you back from accomplishing your goals is yourself.

Master your mind.

Without your health, what do you have?

Don’t be afraid for ‘fear is the mind-killer.’

Appreciate the losses.

Excellence lies in effort.

Have fun.

Build your life resume, not your work resume.

Spend more time with those that show up for you.

Keep Going, you’re doing great.
