Love yourself

Wholehearted living is about everything in our lives from a place of worthiness

Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light

When you feel shame, practice courage and reach out

When you’re willing to be imperfect and real, gifts keep giving

Ordinary courage is about putting vulnerability on the line

Compassion practice is daring. It involves learning to relax and allow ourselves to move gently towards what scares us

Set boundaries and hold people accountable

Connection is the energy that exists b/w people when they feel seen, heard and valued; where they can give and receive w/out judgement and when they derive strength from the relationship

When we attached judgement to receiving help, we knowingly or unknowingly attach judgement to giving help

If you want to experience love and belonging, you must believe that you are worth of love and belonging

Love longs with belonging

You must talk about things that get in the way, especially shame, fear and vulnerability

Shame is the intensely painful feeling of believe that we are flawed and therefore unworthy of love and belonging

  • Speak about it and your fears, because vulnerability is how you progress

Share resilience: talk about it. Own your story. Tell your story.

Authenticity is letting go of what we think we’re supposed to be and embracing who we are

Get deliberate. Get inspired. Get going

Perfectionism is self-destructive because there is no such thing as perfect. Perfection is an unattainable goal. It is about perception and this is unattainable because they is no way to control perception

Self kindness, compassion, humanity and mindfulness

‘There‘s a crack in everything. But that’s how the light gets in.’ - Leonard Cohen

Hope is a combination of setting goals, having the perseverance to pursue them and believing in your own abilities

The dark does not destroy the light. It’s our fear of the dark that casts our joy in the shadows.

Faith is a place of mystery where we find the courage to believe in what we cannot see and the strength to let go of the fear of unknown

Comparison is the thief of happiness

Overcoming self-doubt is believing you’re enough and letting go of what the world says we’re supposed to be

‘Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.’ - Howard Truman

Make Something Wonderful
Steve Jobs

Summary

The life of Steve Jobs in his own words

Rating: 5/5

Notes

Make something wonderful and put it out there

‘You appear, have a chance to blaze in the sky, then you disappear’

When you’re a stranger in a place, you notice thing you don’t otherwise (Jobs after India trip)

Whenever you start with nothing, always shoot for the moon. You have nothing to lose.

You never achieve what you want without falling on your face a few times

Never be afraid to fail. You never achieve what you want without falling flat on your face a few times

We are never taught to listen to our intuitions, to develop and nurture them. But if you do pay attention to these subtle insights, you can make them come true

Creativity equals connecting previously unrelated experiences and insights others don’t see

Believe that some of what you follow with your heart will come back and make your life richer. And it will. And you will gain even firmer trust on your instincts and intuitions

Make your avocation your vocation. Make what you love your work.

The journey is the reward. The reward isn’t in the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, it’s in crossing the rainbow

To find A+ talent, if experienced, look at their track record and results

The world we know is a human creation and we can push it forward

The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do (read whole ad ‘here’s to the crazy ones)

We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then is not an act but a habit - Aristotle

Hire people better than you are

You can’t plan to meet the people who will change your life

It’s impossible to connect the dots looking forward, but they make sense looking backwards so you have to trust the dots will somehow connect in your future

Everything around you that you call life was made up by people no smarter than you
