Being creative is the proof that we can leave an imprint on our surroundings, that we can make a mark on time
We take over ideas where we find them and largely we find them in the works of other artists
Influence isn’t about comfort food - it’s about challenging expectations of yourself
Time changes artists and the art they make - there will always be phases
The point is to keep moving forward - generate ideas in a rush and don’t think too early if they work. They work in that they exist
Creative life sometimes means knowing when deviating from the plan because there’s a new plan
If dealing with a creative block, make something that’s already been made - inspired imitation
Revisit your earlier work with a clear eye

Creativity has to do with how you arrange and construct what’s familiar
When distraction shifts into boredom, that’s the seed of something creative
Hang out with people from different disciplines
When you’re practicing a creative discipline, practice another one
If you make things long enough, you will fail

Don’t let failure or success knock you down and stop you from experimenting
Creativity needs a certain amount of indifference so you can improve your ability to make a difference
